The Rummage Sale is a significant fundraiser for our Club. Held in February, the sale features household items, holiday items, jewelry, books and clothing, and antiques. A Plant Sale, Home-baked Goods Sale and Handmade Cards Sale are held concurrently.
A Sale Preview is offered the day before the Rummage Sale for a small donation.
First presented in 1963, our Flower Show continues as an opportunity for LBGC to showcase the horticulture, floral design and artistic talents of our members. Everyone in the club is encouraged to participate; classes and workshops are available to members who would like to develop new talents or hone current ones. The Flower Show is held every other year and is presented at no cost to our community.
The Garden Fair is the major fundraiser of the year and is held each November on the Friday and Saturday prior to Thanksgiving. The Garden Fair features a tour of seven local gardens (including our own, of course!). A Luncheon, Craft Boutique, Handmade Card Sale, Home-baked Goods Sale and Plant Sale are also part of the Garden Fair. Additionally, miscellaneous items are sold as "Trifles and Treasures."
In March 2018 we presented our first Horticulture Specialty Show with the theme "Gadzooks! Gnomes and Greenery!" It was a wonderful success, with praises from the Judges and public alike. Member participation was high which made the show very exciting for all. Like the full Flower Show, this event is open to the public at no cost and handicapped accessible.
