Our Club
Lemon Bay Garden Club is a 501(c)(3) organization which was established in 1959 by community minded, garden loving, artistically talented women with the aim of giving back to the community. We encourage the study and practice of horticulture, landscape design, and floral design; aid in the beautification of the town of Englewood; and help protect and conserve natural resources. The Club provides both financial and hands-on support to a variety of municipal, educational, and environmental organizations throughout the region. We provide scholarships to second, third and fourth year college students who major in environment related studies. We also provide camp scholarships to youngsters to attend Florida Federation of Garden Clubs' Camp Wekiva, located in Apopka, Florida. (Contact the Club to request an application.)
Our monetary income is derived from sales of plants propagated by our members and cards and crafts designed by our members. We also benefit from community fundraising projects, individual donations, and grants from the community. In return our members' wellbeing benefits from volunteer work in our community and countless hours spent working in our gardens and crafting. Come join us! |
